Caltel was pleased to be asked to supply and fit a full working kitchen for Severn Valley Railway in Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

The kitchen was installed in a new build heritage period extension on the platform and the kitchen layout had to be both fit for purpose and meet demands whilst being pleasing on the eye. Caltel worked very closely with the appointed architect and the main contractor to achieve the end result on time and whilst working alongside other trades.

The equipment scheduled comprised:

• Induction hob and oven

• Combi oven

• Custom made tabling and catering sinks

• Dishwashing system

• Customised, specialised extraction system

• Refrigeration

• Fully automated grease traps

• Healthy eating fryer

• Bottle coolers and servery equipment

• Gluten free area

Whilst on site, Caltel  also completed the design and installation of a smaller kitchen on the existing complex to serve volunteer staff. The objective was to utilise as much of the existing equipment as possible from the old kitchen as possible in order to keep costs down and make up with new and reconditioned equipment from our warehouse. There were also some specialist tasks such as first fix electrics, plumbing, building work and asbestos removal.
